Was wondering if this would work for a 16v, my brother got a bunch of parts with his car, the guy was going to do a 16v swap and had alot of the parts but I didn't know if this was the right manifold and downpipe?

Looks like a b3 or mk2 manifold. Def. some stock vw manifold/DP. If it is (which it looks like...I'm not quite sure), it won't work...the mk1 one goes under around the steering rack, and I think the b3/mk2 one goes above the steering rack.


The only stock vw exhaust mani/downpipe that will work for you is a Scirocco 16v mani/downpipe. They're not ridiculously common, and quite a few are cracked to an extent. You'll probably pay $100 or maybe a little more for the mani/downpipe, last time I was looking at prices (albeit a year or so ago). You could probably score a used header for that if you looked.
