Aesthetically I don't mind them.
Under high heat, yea, they crack and get all effed up. Remember what the car is we are talking about. Its got lambo doors and silly fender vents. The person is most definitely going for form over function.

There is no benefit with most pads these days.
They were made to vent gasses that would build up between the pad and rotor on race cars.
Now Hondas have them.
