Lindstrom totally isn't far. Depends on the weather for this guy It gets windy out there!

    edit:

just saw you needed a roll cage.... strange. Will be fun to watch though!

Haha, Lindstrom is only 15-20 minutes for me. I just may come out to see this for the first time.

my dad and I used to go out to these all the time. Sure would love to again, but I think it would be a better day spent working on getting his car together...

strange? roll cages are kinda a must when it comes to wheel-to-wheel racing. just going to through it out there that i got 2 mk2's for sale(cheap) one was used as an ice race car with roll cage but no motor, the other is an everyday driver runs fine.

idk about that, I had a pretty bad accident on the ice a few years back, i was glad to have a cage and those snow banks are pretty hard if you hit them.

yeah it was some guy who was a "professional" race car driver. he came out for a few weekends i guess and he spun out at the end of the front straight and then came back on the track right in front of me, didnt have enough time to get out of the way (he had a hans unit- not sure on the spelling) so he couldn't turn his head to see me coming. estimated speed of the crash was about 90-95mph. now they keep the track at a slower speed but the ones in Canada are a bit faster.

The snowbanks end up being icebanks and if you hit one sideways it could trip a rollover.

true true, i've done that too only thing that broke though was the windshield so it wasn't that bad, i've seen plenty of car flip because of the snow banks. gatta try and avoid those

I see you are using studs. that I understand. its tough to get a car going fast enough on snow tires to need a cage imho.

We are getting a group together out on Lake Mtka next weekend. (Not part of GLQC)
downfall of the vw scene: its air fresheners on tow hooks, rusted hoods, beat ass fenders from bad colored wheels on air ride, with blow up dolls out sunroofs and everyone with a dslr is a pro photographer all of a sudden snapping pics of their awesome stickers
