Default More Euro than a Focus...

    (Sorry Zurno)

    1988 Merkur Scorpio.
    2.9l V6, Auto, RWD.

Lots of body roll, but at least it can be throttle steered on snow/ice.

It's definitely a project. The tranny acts funny, most seem to think it needs to be replaced, but I'm not convinced yet. I'm hoping it's just a vacuum switch/vacuum line on the outside.

Needs motor mounts, No longer in production. One company makes them, for (drum roll please) $149 each...
Rumor has it that a t-bird mount can be adapted. Seems like an e30 mount might work too, but I'll find out as I go.

Basically, this thread will just be a place for me to keep track of what I've done to the car. This isn't going to be fast, this isn't going to be pretty, but it will be comfortable, practical, and cheap.

    Happy Reading

Oh yeah, the heater sucks royal donkey balls too, so that's on my to-do list also.

(I had to buy a cup of coffee this morning just to keep warm)

    This. Car. Rocks. I like.

My theory is the overdrive isn't engaging correctly anymore.

Overdrive trouble is my theory too, I'm gonna look into the vacuum switch over lunch today (it's SO great having a lift here at work)

Not vacuum accumulator, vacuum switch on the side of the tranny.
I just replaced it and now 4th gear works
And yes, it does need more cosworth 24v power. But that's not gonna happen, this is gonna be a no-mod daily.
