Default Seal your car for winter!!!!

Well, I've talked about sealing cars in the shout board for a few weeks now and how important it is to keep your car protected during the snow/ice/salt/sand season. My first seal of the season
    Process
Wash wheels with APC w/brightner mixed 4:1, foam finger pads, schmitt mitt, and boars hair brush
Tires cleaned with APC 4:1 cut 4:1
Car soaked with foam gun and Meg's Gold Class
Washed with Chenille MF mit, Meg's Gold Class, and 2 bucket method
Clayed with Meguiars Mirror Glaze Clay (mild version, aka blue clay)
Dried with Absorber and MF towels
Blown dry (to get water out of mirrors, license plate frames, side markers) with Air Gun
Ado had mentioned that there was some hazing on his hood so I taped off
the freshly painted fenders and just did a light correction on the hood
    Process:
Finesse-It 2 Finishing Polish, White CCS Pad, 1200 RPM
3M Swirl Mark Remover PN# 39009, Grey CCS pad, 1500 RPM
    Wipe with MF
Then we noticed that the freshly painted fender had some halographing in the paint (this happens when they remove the finishing/final polish before it is completely broken down and is fairly difficult to see unless you're in just the right light) These were taking care of with a quick pass with the 3M 39009, grey pad, and 1200 RPM
Afterwards, I did a final wipe down with Meg's Quick Detailer to make sure all waterspots and what not were gone
Meguiars Professional #20 (polymer sealant) applied via PC7424, grey CCS pad, and 1000 OPM
I left the 20 on to haze for about a half hour to 45 minutes to make it a little easier to remove. In the mean time I used Newspaper and Stoner Invisible Glass on the Windows. I used Meguiars Trim Detailer on all of the front grilles and wheel liners. I polished the exhaust tips with a little bit of soft scotch-brite, then 1500 grit wet-sand, then Powerball with Mothers Power Metal Polish. Tires and rims were dried, wheels were ID'd, tires were dressed with Meguiars Endurance Tire shine then wiped down. After all of this the sealant was removed. Here's the after pics

There's still some things we need to do this winter to make the paint perfect. The hood is beyond repair and needs to be resprayed, and there are a few other knicks on a few other panels... Nothing that wouldn't be overlooked by anyone other than us detailers... heh heh

hehe, when I first read the title, the thought that popped in my head was how they wrap boats for winter with the mega-shrinkwrap.

    Looks nice!
