    Default road rally/scavenger hunt

Would anyone be interested in having a road rally/scavenger hunt around the metro area?

Seems like it would be something fairly simple to setup and proceed with, if there is interest!

it would probably be better to do a TSD on a more rural route

My uncle and his friend, when he was younger, took a triumph spitfire to a road rally.

First of all, when I think road rally, I think of WRC:

Obviously most of us don\'t want to beat our cars THIS badly.

But, what it actually seems to be, is a mapping challenge (scavenger hunt, soort of) where you get subtle directions to the initial checkpoint. When you arrive at the checkpoint you recieve more subtle directions to the next checkpoint. To win, just like rally, whoever has the lowest average time (or total time) to achieve ALL checkpoints wins.

Now obviously we can\'t be driving 100 mph accross the city, so usually there are penalties for being TOO quick.

So, you can\'t go too fast, or too slow. I think it would be a fun and legal way to enjoy ourselves and our cars, no matter how fast or slow.

Also, it would have to be a staged start, so people dont just follow eachother around, getting lost and such. so probably 5 min interval start times.

It wouldn\'t take more than a little creativity to establish checkpoints, people to station them, and the subtle directions to them. Overall I think it would be a really good time!

We could end with a gtg event, like a car wash or drive in movie night.

Something like that. But, in the end, there are winners and losers, not everyone gets the chocolate .

Of course there has to be some sort of prize for winning, maybe a goofy BF! sculpture/trophy or something.
