not worth it
LOL. Scotty, I don't know you nor do you know me ... so spare me the lecture, PLEASE!
Admin please rename the thread or better yet delete it .. ... seems to me that the thread topic is a hot issue and I don't want to offend any more people than I have to.
Which dealer shop did this?
^ i would seriously doubt it bro. What is your basis? I used to work there, they have an insane tire machine, and , for the most part, people who know how to use. it. Unless you showed up at 3 on a saturday afternoon and got a lube kid, And at that point, you are a idiot for expecting anything else....
Damn, I came in this thread expecting to see Sven bought a new car, and then I get let down by some sob story about a god damn wheel....
Pathetic.

My basis is that they were the ONLY ones touching the wheels and tires. My basis is that a tire was leaking air from the get-go. I dropped off the setup during regular business hours with a tech that has done this before. I am an idiot regardless, damage is done, setup is damaged, life goes on and I'll move on. I'm guessing some of you are missing the point what I'm referring to. They mounted a damaged tire with potential cause further issues, my safety was at risk.
Either way, I'll be talking to the service manager at some point and point out what is happening with their "service".
No we all got your point. We just didn't care because of your choice of words. But either way it is a shitty situation to be in. This is why I would not have went to a dealership with aftermarket wheels. When I worked for Tires Plus we would always check the tire after we mounted them to make sure there were no leaks. Next time hopefully you realize that not only do most dealerships charge far too much money for work, they also don't necessarily do a better job than independent shops.
One more thought, are you sure the bead was torn when installed on the wheel? I only ask because many times when I would take a tire off of a wheel to be replaced with a new tire, the old tire's bead would rip when coming off (mostly due to going too fast and not caring about the old tire). I get that it was a new tire but it still can happen.

Wow what a shady situation. I can't believe they had someone repaint the wheel without your consent... Good that they agreed to buy a brand new wheel though. Sucks about the tire damage too, but I'm guessing at this point they would just try to squirm out of it anyhow.
Changed the thread title for you so hopefully the more troll minded people will leave you alone now.
You can guess based on my location. They are the only VW dealer south of the metro.
And yet you still took the time to add your $0.02, now that is pathetic.
Thx man, appreciated.
Yeah I'm def. interested who you dealt with and what the issue was. I'll send you a PM.
I thought it would be an interesting read for some, most of you have been burned by the dealer one way or another, and so far the experience was good, but the tire damage brought it over the top for me.
I guess the moral of the story is let the tire guys handle your wheels and tires.
I'm confused...you seem to imply this was Schmelz, yet you also say this was done by the only dealer south the the metro, which would mean it wasn't Schmelz? That sort of vagueness isn't helpful for anyone looking to avoid your situation.
Also, your location seems to be absent from your info, so that's no help either. Who done it?!?!
