That was a long time ago lol I remember buying parts off that thing way back
It had Gunnar's old borbets from like 12 yrs ago .... Wow I feel old
Wow that looks ancient. Gunnar huh. A guy named Gunnar bought my brother's totalled mk2 GLI and put the engine in a white mk1 if I remember correctly.
I'm excited to see your car the show Dave.
thanks, claybared it last night and.started waxing it.
I though gunnar bought.his gli from another guy in stillwater. then he had sci build the motor, then he rolled it. then he had sci put the motor in that white mk1, that he hit a parked car with. that motor was bad luck or something. I'm leaning more towards or something.
My brother and I both lived at my parents in Bloomington still when all of this happened, probably like 2002? the motor was all done up by SCI with head work and a bunch of other stuff then my brother was rear ended sitting at a stoplight near Kennedy by some teenage chick not paying attention. He had put about 1000 miles on the car and was absolutely devastated. Car was totalled, sold to a guy named Gunnar. Anyways, yeah bad luck all around.
odd. timing is right. he had his black gli in 2002 or so. whatever. sorry hear what happened to your brothers car. :-)
I sent the photos in, but then revoked it after Dave and I chatted about some things he still wanted to do, and me wanting to do a different location. Havent heard from Dave about it since.

What's planned for the winter Dave?

thanks guys. I am still at it, just waiting to work on it until it feels fun again. doing more drivetrain stuff so I can put down more power. changing to a different flywheel and some odds and ends.
those porsche parts are nice, but I get good pricing on stoptech so if I did a bbk that's what I would do. instead I am going to run street pads normally and ht-10s for track I think.
been talking with dss about driveshaft options. any good option is over a grand and for a balanced stick of chromo and some joints, that's just hard to agree with. thinking of having one made locally. more of a gamble but it would be nice to have local support.
