Ko4 is a waste IMO. Just do stage 2(software, 3" turbo back, suspension and some decent tires) and play with that for a season. That way when you wanna do stage 3 or more, then everything but a big intercooler, injectors and turbo is gtg. Don't get me wrong, bolting a k04 and 50 horse to your 1.8t is going to be fing sweet, it's just that : just a k04... Pm me or these other dudes ^ if you need any help.

The frankenturbo is pretty much a KO4 that is plug & play with KO3 downpipe and oil & coolant lines.

Cool thanks for all the info and suggestions. I will certainly need help/info if this is something I get into with the 20th. I'll have to get a project thread going here if this unfolds. The previous owner had some sort of software installed. Is there anyway to figure out what software was programmed? Is it easy to install different software, like APR software if I went with a stage 2 setup down the road and cancel out what is installed, if in fact it isn't already APR...

If you have one company's tune and you want to go with another for some reason, it would be cheaper to buy a used stock ECU, get that setup with the new tune and sell your old ECU for more than you paid for the used one.
