I don't know if I would put a 272 in w/o changing the valve springs.

For chips, it really doesn't make much difference as to which one you go with. There will be very little differences, even on the dyno you MIGHT see one more HP here or there.
I also have the TT heavy duty dual valve springs with chromoly retainers.

thanks both for the insight on chipping. I only thought of megasquirt because a number of the guys in the local scene have done it and are masters and programming and tuning. I was leaning more towards a c2 chip or unitronic, but seeing as uni doesnt do the aba and the TT is cheaper than the c2.

has anybody actually used the TT chip? thoughts on them?

TT chips are excellent...buy it w/ an exhaust and they might make it cheaper for you.

I'd get that, but I already have the cam and springs/retainers. I only need to followers. TT doesnt even carry the cam I have anymore.

I recently got the k2 ed. seats and they are nice, I have also replaced the front brakes with stock replacements for now. after I get the rear brakes and exhaust re-done (I'm thinking about having a shop weld up a straight pipe from the cat back, how shitty would that sound?) I am replacing the entire suspension system since it is probably factory original at 207,xxx miles. I have also decided to do the golf front end swap since I found out how simple it actually is to do
