Basically how I got talked into it

-So stg 1 motor mounts are on order. 65 durameter (sp?).
-Timing belt kit is on order (the "reason" for all these additions).
-Zip's in St, Cloud should be sending the nozzles back today all done up. They were only able to set the pressures to stock 220/300 bar main and pilot pressure. Zips wasn't able to raise them like we were hoping since they did not have the kit from bosch. We will try them and see how they work.
-If all goes as planned, everything (except nozzles) should go in the car on Saturday. TB Kit, 11mm IP, Colt Stg 2 cam, and motor mounts. With nozzles to follow after words.

Yes it was. Another 4 hours well spent. Everything went in with out flaw. Jon and I have spent the last week tuning. Just to let you know how much tuning we have done, my last tank dipped to 39 mpg. I have only gotten that low once in the middle of winter when it was 30 below for like a week

I have pics and will post soon.

So for any one still reading this, here it goes. August 25th Jon, Hart, Sirpuddingfoot, and myself did a timing belt job. While we were in there we also did a few other things . I think the list is posted above. Everything went smooth and I owe a big thanks to Jon, Nathan, and Max for all their help.

    New Lifters going in:

    Lots of Lube:

    Drop in a new camshaft:

Also replaced the worn out motor mounts with BFI stg 1 mounts. I love them, especially at first. The car shook like crazy. It didn't take very long for them to smooth out. The shifting is so much better as well as the steering. Over all the car feels more connected to the road. And the motor sounds different too. That could be the cam though.

The following Monday Jon dropped in the Injectors and the tuning began. I'll let Jon post what ever specifics he wants about the tune and the nozzles.

First off, I need help convincing Paul that he needs an exhaust upgrade! 2.5" downpipe into stock exhaust, gross!

Tune is a Custom Malone Stage 5 for his huge injectors(HFLOX WARP 7 .275um nozzles), super short injection duration mean better power and it doesn't need insane timing advance. Just running 26psi. Lots of fuel left for when Paul upgrades his rods, pistons and turbo.

Also, on your list of stuff you need, better intake system - that tiny snorkle is our new bottle neck. It could use a bigger MAF housing - just to reduce restriction, not that we need to use a MAF.

I am totally going to keep driving the shit out of this car for as long as it can take it, and I am amazed by how far this car has come in terms of drivability along with keeping good fuel economy numbers (except when WOT for 300 miles of a tank). But I am certain now that my next performance upgrade is going to have one of these pinned to the body.

(pic stolen from some web site, just sayin)

If you can get a vette with a duramax stuffed under the hood, I'd be sold!
