so, i'm finally putting this up as a feeler. still undecided on what to do just yet.

so if you don't already know, big-o fucked up my car. i lost one of the primary stretch bolts for the subframe and they also messed with a control arm. the car is indeed very fixable, but right now i really don't have the time or desire to really mess with it very much. the hole for the stretch bolt will need to be tapped for a new bolt to be installed. once that's done it should be just fine.

currently the car has 176k on it, and it has been impeccably maintained its whole life. it doesn't leak or burn any oil what so ever, has always been run on mobil 1 synthetic since new with premium fuels, timing belt and water pump service done on time, etc etc. car and drivetrain def. has a lot of life left in it. also recently installed was a completely new suspension, bilstien shocks, h&r sport springs, all new control arms and bushings, the works...its all brand new. it also has a APR stage 1 tune for 91 octane for a bit more power.

cosmetically the passat is starting to show its age. clearcoat failure on the hood and roof, drivers door is rusting, as is the rear passenger quarter has just started to bubble. both are still fixable and the only reason why they are rusting is because of poor body work that was done in the past. rest of the car is rust free and clean top to bottom. front bumper is also scuffed and damaged, however a replacement bumper will come with the car. just needs paint. actually if you were to paint the whole car it'd be a really great looking car again.

right now i'm really not interested in parting out the car...i really don't want to invest the time in doing so...that and i really just don't have the heart to do it either. i've had this car so long its a lot more than a car to me if that makes any sense. so i want to see what people would be willing to offer for it before i take it to VW in Burnsville to see what they'll take on a trade as-is for a new MK6.

**if i trade it in, i will be keeping the e-code Recaro seats and R32 wheel and they will be offered for sale if the current interested parties that have dibs on them decide otherwise**

Trade for a clean Mk3 Jetta Trek? You keep the e-codes and R wheel.

Who is "Big-O" and why did he F'up your car? ...also Stage 1; really? why not just say it has a chip. I guess Stage 1 sounds more badass.

If he would have just said it had a chip someone would have ended up asking who's tune and what stage it was. Since APR offers multiple stages to their tune, he was saving time by being accurate in his description.

You have owned this car for at least 1/2 it's life and have treated it like your first born child. Too bad big O tires treated it with such disrespect. I know it's a feeler, but maybe giving us a starting point for the price would help TJ.
GLWTS, but honestly, I hope you keep it.

i'd like to see maybe 2k for it but i'm open to offers. going to put everything on the table before i decide what to do with it.

i hate to get rid of it, but i just don't want to fix it...but on the same token its been so well cared for the car really does run like a champ. a lot of passats this age/mileage aren't as mechanically sound as this one, its been extremely well cared and never had any corners cut on maintenance or cheap parts.

    updated:

i got the car fixed, subframe issues resolved so the car is good to go. still interested in selling it however, i'm hoping to pick up a MK6 here very quickly.

the driver's side window regulator just took a dump, but i already have a new regulator that i'm ready to install so that should be fixed by the time the new owner takes delivery.

$2500 obo, car is located in apple valley.

Did you re-tap the subframe bolt hole or just chase it with the same size and a new bolt? I'm pretty sure I need to do the same.
