    Default Powerjoke Project

So I picked up a 2004 6.0l F-250 about a month ago to use as a plow truck/daily. To add to that I just recently sold my M3 because A. I didn't really ever drive B. Plows are fawkin expensive C. I got a pretty good number D. I am just going to get something different next spring

So basically the goal is to have fun with this thing, get some better MPG's on my commute, make it look better and roll coal like a little whore.

So far I have ordered a MRBP Black 5 inch exhaust, S&B Intake, Recon smoked cablights and Recon Smoked Mirror lights. Also I tinted the front windows to 25% to match the rears.

The rest of the goals for this summer:
-find a good tuner, I am leaning towards SCT
-Pull off chrome on bottom of truck
    -Different wheels
    -2005-2007 Grill
    -2005-2007 Harley Davidson Headlights
-Get the truck wired for strobes
    -Color Match bumpers

So far I have been averaging 16.7 which isn't bad at all

If i may add my two cents, i dont know what your power goals are so this is just general advice, option A: Right out of the gate i would suggest gauges (egt, trans temp and boost) unless yours is a stick, 2nd exhaust which you said you ordered, a DRY air intake... the turbo on a diesel will suck the oil out of an oiled filter and cause premature turbo failure , i would then do the full update on it (egr, head gaskets and studs, intake gaskets) and while you have the heads off you might aswell get them worked on. Fuel Ugrades like an FASS or similiar, and finally a turbo and charge cooler, and injectors, But at this point your trans is waiting to grenade so might want to upgrade that or your clutch, and lastely personally i hate programmers they are cheap they cause more problems in the long run than good, but if you must have one buy one that has the EGT safeties built into them aswell as a turbo cool down timer, its cool to roll coal but thats untapped HP coming out your exhaust.

or Option B: Stack a bunch of programmers and leave sooty messes everywhere you go. i want to see either way.

Well the worst/best thing happened Wednesday before I went to the ALMS race... the HG blew. So time for some ARP Headstuds and an EGR delete

Also I got the windows re-done on Monday again to 5% on the front and 5% over the back so they are technically 3%, it looks awesome but they're a bit hard to see out of at night

Well I have an aftermarket warranty, I should know if they are covering if tomorrow hopefully ,the truck was still 100% stock when it blew so I don't see a problem. I will just have to buy the studs more than likely which I have no problem with. If not I will do it with my friends dad at their shop since we need to pull the cab.

Yeah when I was looking at 6.0's I asked a dealership if I bought studs if they would do them and they said absolutly not and that was after I had a deposit on the truck. They said they would only install factory parts. And I was asking cause I didn't know if you knew you had to pull the cab. A couple guys at work have done it and the one did bolts without pulling the cab but when he put studs in he had to pull the cab and said it's way easier. Also I'd do your research on the head gaskets I know the 6.0 has like 7 different revisions of head gaskets. Plus then of course do the egr delete put some gauges in and call it a day. It won't be cheap but in the end it should be a solid truck. I didn't want to deal with the headaches so I just bought a duramax instead.

The service adviser at Minnetonka Ford told me he was going to try to get the ARP studs covered by the warranty but he said he recommends I buy them even if they don't cover the cost of the studs. (which I was planning on doing either way)

I looked at the Duramax but the aluminum heads and lack of a straight axle up front scared me as this is going to be a plow truck, then I went to look at a 2004 cummins and couldn't stand the interior. So I settled with the 6.0, it gets decent MPG's and after I get this fixed I'll be good to go for a long time.

If your doing it yourself, i would suggest aftermarkets like sinister or such, navistar tried like 4 gaskets between 03-07 and has had issues with every solution theyve tried because their fasteners are shit (straight from international reps mouth). And yours should have the 18mm dowels if you decide to do it yourself. Good luck

I can get you a good price on the head studs, send me a message.

EDIT: I take it back, the cheaper ARP studs are on extended backorder for me.

I knew it was going to happen, it was just a matter of time. I have a warranty also, I am just waiting for an adjuster to come out tomorrow or Friday

Along with the studs I'm having them do the power steering pump also, a heavier duty alternator, injectors, fuel regulator, fuel filter and the bullet proof EGR cooler (dealer won't just delete it)

Look at that baby exhaust that's on there now haha

    I switched my order from a 5" to a 4" so it doesn't drone, but I will have a 6" tip

What tires do you have btw, on the current wheels I have yokohamas, but with plowing I want the best tire so I don't get stuck haha
