    Default Absolutely stumped....

I have no idea what is wrong with my car. I will be driving along happily, car running great, good power, I might be singing, possibly some Journey, and then BAM, the battery light comes on in my cluster, and I lose all power. It doesn't die, and it idles fine, it just loses its balls completely (0-60= 10+ seconds).

Then the light will go away, and power returns to normal. So I write it off as a weird fluke, then maybe I downshift and increase throttle pressure to change lanes, or to turn around a corner, and BAM, light comes back on, and power goes away.

I can hear my turbo spooling away as normal, and the DV still makes a pleasant chirp when I let off of the throttle, but it feels as though the wastegate is wide open.

What the hell is wrong with my car? It only happens when the battery light is on. I'm baffled. Go!

Battery is less than a year old with about 10,000 miles on it. I'll check the grounds though.

Check the ground under the battery tray, and all the grounds, actually.

had something similar happen in my rabbit. one of the wires for the alternator plug came loose. but it would intermittently work/not work. so the light would come on and i would be on battery power, and then it would regain connection and id be back on alt power

only time the batt light comes on when running is when the alternator is not outputting proper voltage.
check battery voltage when running or have the alternator checked.

And check the blue exciter wire going to the alternator.

make sure the big power wires on the fuse block above the battery aren't burning up, and make sure none of the fuses have gotten melty.
