lug bolt question

So I've got some e30 basket weaves that I'm getting tires put on in the next week and was wondering if anyone knew if I could use the existing lugs on my mk3? Or do I need to get conical lugs?

IIRC BMW lugbolts are conical, where as VAG lugbolts are ball seat.

That's what I mean. Can one use VAG ball seat lugs on BMW conical wheels? If not, is there a place locally that I can pick some conical ones up for less than an arm and or leg?

No. You need to buy conical lugs. Discount tire will have them, as will most auto parts stores.

That's what I thought but I had heard that if you use an impact to put them on then it didn't really matter. I trust the opinions and knowledge base of this forum much more than the hillbillies that I work with.

It matters. You'll deform the wheel where the lug sits and they can come loose over time, as well as leave you with a damaged lug seating surface.

If you can find out what makes use cone-seat lug nuts, go to U Pull R Parts armed with a tire iron.

This is a great idea. The hillbilly print shop that I work at during the day is in Lakeville. I'll stop by tuesday night on my way back to civilization.

Anybody have any models that I should keep my eye out for besides the E30s?

I have some conical lugs that should work, although they are spline drive. LMK if your interested

pretty much any BMW that U Pull will have will have the correct lug bolts. But U Pull takes the wheels off. Are any going to have lug bolts on them? Maybe they have a lug bolt/nut bin or something.

They USUALLY pull the wheels off, and almost always put the lugs back.
