Default Need help finding a Stud Conversion Kit

    Hey everyone,

I have another thread similar to this, but it got all convoluted with other details, so I'm gonna try to keep this one on topic.

I have MB AMG wheels that have 12mm lug holes. I want to mount them on my B5 Avant that takes 14mm. The stock Audi bolts are too large for the AMG lug holes, so I need a stud conversion kit.

I need the kit that has 20 studs, measuring 14x1.5 to 12x1.5. I tried these studs in the 44mm length, and they were too short, so they need to be about 2.25" I believe. Can someone please help me find these long stud converters?

I've been looking all day and can't find them anywhere.

    Sweet. I'll try him.

Anyone else have any luck finding a set?

    Thanks Brandon.

Alright. If I can't find these studs, I need to start considering drilling out the bolt holes on the wheels themselves to accommodate a 14mm Audi bolt. So, where do u guys recommend going to get the lug holes from my amg wheels drilled out...?

    Thanks fellas.

I'm still confused why you think you need to do this? Many people have run merc wheels on audis without problem

    Okay,

It should make sense in my first post on this thread, but ill make it more clear. The lug holes on the amg wheels that I have are 12mm in diameter. They are too small for the 14mm diameter Audi lug bolts.

The people who have run them, have different styles of amg wheels that accommodate a 14mm bolt. The style that I have does not. The lug bolt hole needs to either be drilled out or I need the stud converters.

Does that clear up your question? You're not the only one asking me that, so no worries.

I can't believe how easily you gave up. Took me legitimately 3 minutes. http://www.passatworld.com/forums/42...mg-wheels.html

Ummm.. yeah, I saw that thread too. This morning, along with a lot of other similar threads. Those studs are still too short at 1.75". I need the 2.25" ones.

As far as I know, no one has found them yet. You'll find info on the 1.75" ones non stop. They're everywhere.

There's some good info on that thread on what bolts and nuts to use after getting the lug holes drilled out. What I was asking is where you guys GO to get the lug holes drilled out.

So, u got the same results I've gotten 100 times over, thus being your "3 minute search" and "how easily u gave up" comments. Find the studs I'm looking for in 3 minutes. Ready, ... Set,... GO!!!!

Thanks anyways for trying. I appreciate the effort, just not the criticism.

Haha. Thanks for the offer. I like your set, but I already have a set to work with. I'm not far away from making em work...

    1. Drill them out, get extended 14mm bolts
    2. Find the unicorn studs 2.25" 14x1.5 to 12x1.5.

One way will work one way or the other. Hub rings prob won't be here till fridayish anyways.

It's the being patient and waiting part I struggle with.

Do u guys drill them yourself or bring them to a machine shop of sorts to get them done...

Machine shop. Hopefully one with experience drilling wheels.
