    Alright...

old f150 bumper off, new bumper idea in place. THe F150 Bumper was held on by two stripped bolts. Took forever to remove.

The wood bumper was too think to fit in the space between the hitch ball and the mouns, so it had to be chisled out a bit. painted the chisled wood black for a cleaner look to this ghetto bumper.

Went golfing for a bit and had my ball land next to this huge caterpillar stretched out, he was twice this size.

Exhaust started rattling and then sounded like a vehicle with crazy loud glass packs...
Temporary fix till I get it serviced

Heres the real problem. THis mount wasnt even attached. Causing all the weight and pressure to go to the pipe by the manifold... then Snap!

Brought it in for service.. they removed this pipe.. cracked one and rewelded this new one on.

THis looks kinda sketchy. but its fixed I guess...

Then I went up to loot more parts frrom the salvage yard. Couple of bumper pieces for the front and a new door card for the sliding door. Mine was all ripped up from the bottom coming loose, no one fixing it and it constantly tearing every time it opened and closed. This one from the salvage yard, isnt perfect... but its landslides better than mine. It was crazy hard to install. Had to be custom fit/cut for that back handle.

    Thats it for now!!

Rattle canned the primered areas today with a burgundy color. Not a perfect match, but better than primer gray. Good temporary paint till I have it totally repainted. Cost $4.00. Took about 20 minutes.

Did some temporary rattle can work on the primered areas. Didnt have enough to do the tail-gate tho. Put a eurowerks sticker on the back window. Ive been a member of eurowerks for two plus years and this is the first sticker ive bought and put on. kinda odd. Oh well.

Taking the Westy to Canada next weekend for some camping action. This will be her maiden voyage of sorts... Any tips/advice? Had the Westy gone through recently in planning for the trip. She's been checked out with the advice of keeping her full on oil and gas...

    Should be fun.

It's time to lower the Westy in preparations for storage this winter. I'm gonna go with the more inexpensive shocks front and rear from tirerack, and as far as lowering springs, it looks like Weitec or something.. Or HR. shopping around now, but hope to have it lowered by October.

Fun! I went hiking at Interstate SP yesterday and it was a blast. Must me fun not to have to pitch a tent at the campsites huh?

If you don't mind doing the work here's an option for a really cheap paint job. We do this on some of our work trucks. We don't do all the sanding since they just continually get beat up, but the rollering is fast and easy to repair for us. It comes out pretty decent without the sanding so I imagine it would look pretty decent if you took the time to do it right. Probably at the least as good as a cheap maaco job. The real key is in the prep work. once we started sand blasting our rust spots rather than trying to steel brush and sand them we had no more problem with rust bubbles.

There's a number of sites with tips and techniques to do this so do a little research and practice on something first. If you aren't looking for show quality you can do this for under $100.
