The Abarth sounds absolutely nasty straight from the factory. I was very happily startled by the exhaust note.

And actually, I've contemplated buying a new Fiat 500 quite seriously and still may, fits closely what I like in my cars
    I get what you're saying.

But for every horse is pulling 12.27lbs in the ATS. In the Fiat Abarth every horse is pulling 16.25.

Honestly i think its a great direction for cadillac to go. It'll be the only US built FR mid-size luxury sedan with a manual trans option as far as I remember offhand.

Last car I think that had that option was the Lincoln LS that if you really dig around you can get with a 5spd and a lame-ass V6.

Ha. I thought the LS was so cool when it came out with the manual! But like you said, it was the weak V6.

    Such a weird sight!

Actually its not a terrible engine, if memory serves me correctly it was a standard Duratec 3.0 which was rated at 230hp or so. I nearly picked one up before i bought my contour but decided against the RWD platform.

Hell, come to think of it i'd rather have the duratec than that rediculous 3.9L jag v8 they came with otherwise. i hear they werent exactly the most reliable engine ford ever borrowed...

Family had the manual V6 LS years back, actually I really liked that car. Handled really well, good cruiser. Power was definitely down but it wasn't too bad if you revved it out. About on par with the same generation 530 from BMW. Was comfy inside, lots of space and good seats.
