OMG - after testing and retesting everything to do with SPARK - coil , crank sensor , even swapped out ECUs

Come to find out , someone swapped in a seat belt immobilizer - it had a piece of electrical tape shoved into the fuse on the fuse box -

Drove it across town - smells like gas pretty bad - think that problem has exsisted for awhile

looks good on the RML's - thanks Matt for the Air-shock install - stopped at gas station and filled em up so it didnt rub...

That's weird but good news. I am glad to see this truck is up and running again. This truck is the reason I bought my caddy.

Was going to install the rabbit GTI grille - but forgot the clips at my shop.

I had to do a minor repair for a crack.

So instead i removed pansonic tape player and installed Alpine CD player, wired up the cooling fan , wired up the gauges in center console..

The coolant gauge in the cluster doesnt work but it looks like there is a water temp gauge in the center console that now works.

I also installed my VW emblem headlight switch.

also broke out old school window cranks

why the f!@# did you put a modern alpine deck in the dash? The dual knob panasonic worked great and looked right.

also, blue seats in a black interior, red truck??? questionable.

the seatbelt / starter issue was not my doing. Lew must have patched that. glad you got it running!!

Give me some credit.. i didnt cut up the nice bezel i have a stash of them already cut up ( and some not cut up )

i like music - cd player install was painless.. wired up those gauges in center console as they were unhooked , wired up the coolant fan to ignition power as it wasnt kicking on..

the mk1 rabbit gti are much more comfortable and i am not a tall person so i didnt need that lowered stance on the corrado seats - the pass seat was fubar'd

guy you sold it to spend $1000 replacing stuff ( found his receipt ) when the mechanic replaced the fuel pump and both filters - he didnt both cleaning out the FPR - which was clogged up what was causing his running issues. That seat belt thing - was weird - spent a very long time trying to figure out why no spark - started taking apart the ABA wiring harness - then noticed something funny in the fuse box.

I can not figure out where the gas smell is coming from - i read in build thread its been there for awhile - any idea where it coming from ? I think i found a factory gas tank.
