Hey all, I just acquired a 97 gti 2.0 5speed. Windsor blue. It needs either a transmission or sifter linkage adjustment. Have not had time to look at it yet. Its a good solid car and will be my new daily eventually! The transmission is slightly tough to get in first, and 5th is like it doesn't exist loo. it goes in, but doesn't do a thing. Also needs a pcv system as p.o. removed it with he installed intake.

This is my old car, the slightly infamous one. Shifted great when I had it, I did have to replace that plastic piece that lets you get from 1st and 5th. Maybe it went bad again?
It's a common break.
The PO (before me is on here and had the tranny rebulilt, I would hope it's still healthy.)

I live in Fargo right now. That plastic piece seems to be attached and doing its job, but I have not looked much at it. Tomorrow I will take more pictures and work on it some. Originally Posted by Russo
