    Default Wtb: BMW e30 5spd

Ok guys been looking for a little while for a decent e30 mainly for daily but with potential. Seems like all the ones I've found aren't quite road worthy. I would prefer a plastic bumpered one 90-93. And two door would be nice as much as a 4 door would be more practical. I have an e28 535i 5spd I could trade plus cash for right car, and have cash too if trades are not an option. I'm in Iowa but would travel to neighboring states. Thanks in advance any offers please text me 51five77eight813O. Cheers

E30 only went to 1991, with the exception of the cabrio, which went until 1993.

Plastic bumpers started in 88 btw. There is a decent looking one on CL right now, but it is a early model (diving boards + eta engine) and a 2 door. But it is a manual, and the eta engine is a great DD with all its low end torque and decent mpg.

I'm open to a convertible, really any e30 but the 90s e30 are the ones I would be more interested in. Man last year there were dime a dozen and really well priced this year they all need significant work and or are too far away.

Thanks I'm going to look into it. I Dont mind diving boards but having an e28 I have plastic bumper envy. I performed a lipo on mine so they Dont bug me as much anymore. Although euros look much better imo.

Also my 88 I thought had plastic bumpers, but it just seems like they Dont exist. Most e30s I have seen are either 90 up or 87 down. Maybe its just coincidence but its been a while since I've seen an early facelift e30.

    Nope!
The valence changed on 1988 cars, but they were certainly aluminum bumpers in the United States.
The valence change was done because euro market cars DID get the plastic bumpers in 88.

1988's were a transition year for the front in the US... the valence integrated the foglights, the tail lights got taller, the headlights changed from sealed beams to "ellipsoid" projector style.
The valence change meand that it's possible to swap the 89-91 plastic bumpers onto the car, but 1988 cars in the US never came stock with plastics.

OP, there are loads of e30's out there. Keep cash in hand and be patient if you want to bag a good one. As you know with your e28, very few 25 year old cars are "road worthy" so be ready to improve your car, or be ready to pay up for an enthusiast car.
    EDIT:
op, just one week ago, here is what I found on CL, locally:

some of these are still for sale. The others were scooped up

I'm interested. Could you find out some more info? Mileage, year, 4500, to me is more 325 money but if the condition reflects price I'm very interested.

    Thanks to everyone with leads

How much are you looking to spend? I have an 88 325is with an S52 swap among other things. Alpine white on a Cardinal Red interior.. Good shape, some spots of surface rust. I'd be looking for quite a bit more than 4500 though.

You could probably sell it on r3v for 20k.
