that did the trick! the shop he had it at put in a new aftermarket crank sensor that turned out to be faulty. i just overlooked it being that it was new

just like the title says, let me know how much you need for it thanks. looking to get it asap. this mis-fire is annoying me!

Tried the relay with no sucess. I did finally run our vag com on it. and used measuring block 2 and found that while cranking the rpms stay at 0 and dont read. so the new crank sensor he had the shop...

im not sure, I have tried locking and unlocking multiple times then trying to start it. As that has worked for me in the past. but no go on this beast.

Don't mean to pull your thread off topic, but I'm curious where you trade a gem like this in? What dealer knows/pays a decent price for these older clean vws?

Thanks, for the ideas. It started not starting randomly. after you get it running it wouldn't die, but you never really wanted to shut it off as it might not start again. Not it wont even fire.

I am not sure that it is bad. I have pressure at the fuel rail. (if that makes any difference) I am going to double check my crank sensor with vag-com and make sure the new one is operating properly.
