Gentleman,I have a 1998 vw gti for sale. It's not pretty, but it's reliable and fast. It's not for the faint of heart. The car is stripped on the interior with just a drivers seat. No heat, no ac no hvac controls. Harsh ride over bumbs and can cause mild to severe adrenaline rushes. This thing hauls ass. Here is the list of good and bad.The good:Solid vr6 motor. Pulls hardBFI Stage 1 poly motor/transtrans mounts. Transmission shift good. Easy on gas about 25-28 mpg.oMotor is not cammed or chipped so there is more power potential. Fk coil overs.15x8 borbet type a reps from ESM all around.oFalken 512's on all four with a mild stretch. Rear tires are fairly new bought them last year. Front tires still good.Jetta front end.Low to the groundRemoved ac,ps.oThis is a car that demands your constant attention when driving.oThe bad.oCar was originally a ginster but the p/o primered white over it. I painted it an olive drab color but i did not do the doors/hatch jams.oThe car is rusty around the rockers and wheel arches. There is rust forming on the hatch and on the panel below the hatch. The driver side floor needs patching or a new floor. If you know how to weld this should be an easy fix. I have the passenger seat and some interior bits. I will also throw in a free box of parts containing a throttle body a few intake runners, fuel rail, injectors and other nick nacks.oI am askinghow $2000 for it as is with the esm and stock wheels and suspension. $1200 with suspension and stock speedline wheels. Or $1000 for just the body, motor, tranny and stock wheels, you bring your own suspion. I am also willing to trade for an air cooled beetle. I love this car, ifi can have both this and a beetle i wouldn't be selling it. Please no tire kickers or joy riders. I am willing to negotiate. But will not accept low ball offers. No spammers either.oI prefer text message.o952 956 2063.oThis car is essentially a summer car. It's meant to go fast. It basically a go cart on wheels. No pics yet, i am posting this from my cell phone. I will add pics when i get home. Here is the link to the craigslist ad.

this seems like as good of a time as any to start the Build documentation. its a 2007 Volkswagen Passat Wagon. but this one is a little harder to come across as its the 3.6L VR6 with 4Motion AWD. its essentially a Giant R32. stock they come with 280hp but the wheels take a major drivetrain loss to about 220hp from what i've seen from dyno results online. even with the AWD i managed 34mpg on the highway drving back from minneapolis this weekend and combined 28 city/mostly highway. the color is arctic blue which to me seemed a bit girly so we are going to go black with the rest of the stuff to man it up a bit. brakes and tires were shot but the dealer decided to give me some money back after the trade in do to me bitching about it so wheels and tires are ordered. the brakes and a second key will be getting taken care of by the Colorado Springs VW dealer while i'm waiting to set up camp at Pikes Peak for the Big race later this month. other things going to be getting done are some plasti-dip and maybe some vinyl wrapping on the interior because the woods not my favorite (we'll see) and a roof rack/cargo box is going to be getting ordered pretty soon too and might sneak this thing over to have the suitcase muffler cut off and some flowmasters installed. i should also mention we traded the wifes truck for this but its quickly becoming My new 2nd car, lol its just as quick 0-60 as the GTI and much bigger. what a hoot. on to some pics which i will grab some more of tomorrow as i can't find any good ones of the interior.

for now i just got the one from when i picked it up on saturday

and one taken today after the new tint got installed(montana Legal, although in this pic it looks really dark 35% front, 20% back)

with doing what i want to the exhaust by removing the suitcase muffler and some flowmaster it should sound very similar to this (*Skip to 0:32 for pants soiling)

Two sets of wheels for sale (both are 5 x 112):
- (4) OEM from a Mercedes C36 or C43 - (2) 7.5 x 17" ET 35, (2) 8.5 x 17" ET 30 - This set was pieced together from local breakers and hence the wheels have varying states of wear, though they're all straight. One front is very good, one front and one rear are good (mild-medium flaking clear on the lips), one rear has pretty bad flaking on the lip. Missing some center caps. Looking to get $500, which is what I have into them.
- (4) Carlsson 1/6 (non-Evo) - all 8.5 x 18" ET 35 - I went through a LOT of effort to procure these wheels, but ended up not using them as I'd rather run 17's on my w124. All wheels have curb rash and scuffs on the face (face protrudes and the wheel is front-heavy). Two wheels are dented, one very mildly, one has a medium dent (both highlighted in the pictures). Both very repairable. No cracks or welds. Tires are junk. Lugs are included. Again, looking to get what I have into them, which is $750.

I need to get rid of this thing like this week so I can finish up a deal on a Cabriolet. I have no idea what engine is in it, I'm not a "Honda-guy" but it is NON-VTECH. I have daily driven this car for two years and it has been great. Driven it to Eau Claire, Menomonie, Madison several times and never had an issue. Would trust this car anywhere.

PRICE- $900.00 OBO all offers entertained

PM me on here and i will give you a cell number to reach me at if you are interested.

-218xxx miles Automatic transmission

The good-
-New starter last fall, starts every time no matter what
-New Upper control arms and ball joints
-Great tread left on tires
-New exhaust from the down pipe to the tail pipe
-Aftermarket headunit
-95% wired for subs
-Alloy wheels
-Automatic transmission, shifts great for the year and miles
-Blue/green paint, Black dash in great shape and tan cloth seats, also in good shape
-Power locks, windows, mirrors, sunroof, cruise control all in working condition

The not-so-good-

-Rust, rear wheels wells are the worst, but the underside is in excellent shape, no holes, not rotted just here and there rust
-Oil pressure sending unit is faulty, the red oil light in the dash is on, but I have done oil pressure tests myself and it holds oil pressue
-Heat/cool blend door is stuck in HVAC box, so all you get is heat, but it works awesome.
-Just drove it the other day in the POURING rain and noticed a hesitation/misfire when it was cold, but cleared out after it warmed up, probably wouldnt hurt to do plugs and wires
-Front brake rotors are warped BAD, PO pad slapped it and didnt bother to do the rotors, looked them up, 30$/side

Other than that, its has been a great commuter car for me. Very reliable and affordable transportation.
