Pretty sweet. No idea if it's a repost though...
Certainly better than the Northstar V8 Golf linked in the comments in Jalopnik
I can't think of a worse motor to use for a swap than a fucking Northstar. Ugh.

I've seen a similar thing done with a Mk1 european Escort. Very cool.

thats cool. reminds me of what i want to build, a westfield xtr2 with the same motor and a turbo. i dont like the wheels, as it sits like a 4wd, but the drivetrain idea is sweet. any idea why it sounds so funny? like its missing or fluttering? i assume rev limiter in the first gear, maybe second, but i think i even hear a fluttering sound ( for lack of a better explanation) in 3rd? maybe a week blow off or diverter valve or whatever hes using?
i still like the busa powered smart cars better.

It's a really popular swap into the classic coopers too. Even better, cause they're way lighter.

cus of the turbo?
because that motor is so highly tuned, its not built for endurance. look at race car motors, they have to be rebuilt almost every race, its the same concept with bike motors, they are tuned to almost their limit and they dont last long, plus most bike owners dont ride as much as they drive a car so 15k is a long time for a bikes life

I think its wheel hop - you can definitely hear it when he shifts from 1st to 2nd, not quite as much into 3rd but its still there.
