So, my Passat came with a single din radio that just had togo. My original setup came with the HVAC controls on top, radio in the middle, and pocket on the bottom. I wanted to go double din knowing that it could be done. After buying a Pioneer AVIC-D3 and finding a OEM double din layout. I realized it still needed modifying and I said 'screw-it'. I'll make my own from scratch. So here is what I came up with so far after some reverse modeling in SolidWorks.

Its gonna have to be CNC milled out of 3/4 inch aluminum and then I'll probably have it hard anodized black to finish the surface. I'd be willing to have a few extras made when I get mine done if anyone is interested. I can custom the openings for any double din unit. I'm open to input on other ideas on stuff like this.
