View Full Version : Newb Here
Hey all. New to Eurowerks, new to Audi.
Picked up my first audi not too long ago, and i haven't even got to drive it yet! Right now i'm still in iraq, but i get to come home on r&r soon. Here's what i have waiting for me:
2000 Audi A4, 1.8T sedan. Laser red.
Vogtland Club spec springs, Bilstein shocks Neuspeed rear sway. Audi TT front brake upgrade, SS brake lines, APR Exhaust, APR chip, VDO boots guage, stock wheels with Khumo Exta MX tires for summer.
Little bit about what's going to be piloting that audi:
I'm 21, (turned 21 over here :pissedoff: no booze for my birthday)
i enjoy working on cars, talking about cars, driving cars, riding in cars (though not as much as driving them :P) racing cars, etc.
I also play a lot of guitar in my free time, xbox 360, or sit and lurk on my computer like i'm doing now. As suggested by the profile picture and the name, I'm in Iraq right now. I deployed with the MN National Guard in April of last year. Hopefully i'll be home *for good* at the beginning of august.
I'm also on MNAUDI, if any of you guys are on there as well.
I look forward to meeting you guys, and getting to know some more auto enthusiasts.
Side note: wonword (i think that's your name here) I recall seeing your old school Vdub at Century a lot. That thing is sick!

Welcome!
the screen name is meant to be more lighthearted than anything. think of it this way: anything is whack after you do the same thing every day for a year :)
it's not meant to offend, get in to any sort of politics, or anything like that. i guess that's my disclaimer.
It's good to be here!

Welcome, and thank you for serving your Country:beer: I know your not really allowed to say where you are, etc. But what rank are you? What's your job?
I'm at LSA Anaconda, otherwise known as Balad Airbase :P
don't worry, i didn't just break any rules.
I'm a specialist. it's above 'private first class' and below 'sergeant'. Kind of like corporal, except i'm not in charge of anyone.
My job: Intelligence Analyst. I track what's going on with the various insurgent groups in country, and apply that to what the threat would be for a helicopter going wherever it's going. I'm in a Blackhawk battalion, meaning Army Aviation. :D

Welcome,
Former Marine here, and my girlfriend just arrived in Al Assad. She's deployed with the Lioness program, searching female Iraqis. So if you happen to meet a Sgt Engelmann at a check point, say 'hi' for me

My wife is with the 2-147th as well, and is in HHC ... small world, I wonder if you know her? SGT Tracy Turner, working under Skoog right now IIRC.
If you see her, tell her 'hi'... I miss her lots.

What do you have a special place in your heart for iraq or something?

I'm in her company :) hhc as well!
I know her pretty well, i don't see her very often as i work the midnight to 8 shift. she's cool as heck :)
i remember seeing your car at the mobilization day, the grey golf that was like 1/2 millimeter off the gound, looked sweet. Also saw your car in the eurowerks video she has on her phone thing. :D
Yep, she's still under skoog. He's a good guy, but she probably would know more than i would. I'll definitely tell her you say Hi next time i see her. Yeah, i guess it is a small world
Maybe we'll have to hang out once while i'm home, meet the other Turner :D
