well, obviously i'm new here so let me begin by laying out my history
I started into Audi's my senior year of HS about 02'/03' with a fairly nice 87' 4000CSQ drove that for a while till it got too leaky and the Clutch MC went caput. Puttered around in a 86' corolla for a month or two but the audi had left an impression on me. so in 2006 i picked up a 89 5000 autotragic with a blown tranny and about a month later found pretty much what i was looking for, a tornado red 1990 200 TQ with a blown transmission and a spare from a 5ktq. I dished out 650 for the heap and another 400 for my mechanic to toss in the low milage tranny.
Happy day! i was in another Audi. my life was complete. about this time i started lurking the motorgeek forums and began to see what is possible with the 5cyl MC2. fast forward to winter of 06 the first snow of the season and as was the fashion at the time i went to whip some sh!tt!es long story short, gobs of understeer+bad tires equal crunched fender. lame.

so i ordered some 034 parts and began a head rebuild while i pulled parts off of the 5k to repair the bumper and front fender it took a bit of work but i'm satisfied with the results. changes? i put in a Multi Layered Steel headgasket , did a DIY P&P on the head and some ARP headstuds. This will allow me to bring the boost waayy up without having to worry about the paper HG blowing out. I have not upped the boost yet but with almost 5K miles since the rebuild I am pleased with the modifications.

future plans ? well i have a VW Rabbit build in the works and i might get a homebrew chip for the T44, but i really am looking for a 20V 200TQ Avant but that is far in the future...

anyway glad to be here and i'll probably meet some of you at your upcomming show.

Welcome!

Great to have another Audi driver :)

We have a very clean '91 CQ that we picked up from Shane (shaneco13) here. Great cars!

you can kinda see the saphire metalic blue peeking out from behind my crappy paint job on the bumper so eventually that and the pass fender will get re-sprayed. but i'm concentrating on the future rabbit build that will start later this summer. it's a 84' GTi w/ 54k orig mi.

nice nice! interior looks minty. why's the rest of the car not look like 54k?

you're going to put squares on the rocco? or the rocco front end on the gti?

not to tell you what to do, but, you should really just keep the gti original. 54k miles!!! :o

Really, I say keep the rocco- mk1's are getting rare, these days. is it an '80 or '81? Love the color.

at this point the scirocco's floor is made from slugs and leaves. Those pics are from a while back at my mechanic's secret warehouse. I think the gti looks pretty good for a car that's been sitting for 15 years or so. i havent had a chance to dig into it but it should clean up nice and the back is full of new parts to replace the busted pieces.
