So all I would need to do is buy springs and I can use them with the stock shocks?

well on the GTI at least that holds true, the same shocks are used for the european height and the NA height... not sure about the rabbit tho

I haven\'t seen any debate about this on the mkv forums. I would assume you are correct because it\'s correct for the GTI. If I were you I would wait and see after a good drive. I went with a set of KW V1\'s (not here yet) just to get rid of some of the body roll. They are a 1.8\" drop and everyone who had them seems to think they are just about perfect, although some do claim they are still a little soft but the ladies don\'t like to be jarred around.

In my opinion I will also need a break pad upgrade with some stainless lines and new fluid, the breaks start to fade a little sooner than I\'m comfortable with even for a stock setup. Plus I\'m pretty sure your 2.5 will be a little heavier up front so better brakes can\'t hurt.

What are your wheel options? You going with steelies because you want to swap right away?

Actually I was thinking new RS4s or the RS6 or something with a deeper dish.

Nice. I\'m gonna be jealous of your new wheels. Of the pictures I\'ve seen of my car lowered the wheels I have look a lot better. Not as nice as the A8 wheels :) . Have you seen the pics of the new rabbits that are starting to arrive?

That last one is way too slammed in the back.

I like the look of the new RS4s

The black one is hot. The silver one is, well.. not  Maybe it was just a bad angle.

I think the silver one has airbag suspension.

The RS4 are 18x8 et +45 ,do you think 19\'s would be too big?

I personally wouldn\'t ride 19s, that would kill my back

As I posted before, it all depends on the offset you get. I did the calculations and the A8\'s will fit the mkv rabbit/gti just fine as 19\'s.

Not sure how the wheel diameter would effect the ride. Has more to do with suspension and tire pressure...

FYI Dave. The new Mk5\'s are all 5x112 (im 99% sure about that on the rabbits, but look into it). Also, as far as wheels go, it seems everyone\'s experience so far has been that you need an offset or et of at least 45 or greater (e.g. et45, et47, et50). Otherwise your tire selection will need to be very good to keep from rubbing all the time.
