Well I have been watching this show on Speed Channel that is taking three cars (a new cobalt, a new jetta 2.5, and somer ricer i dont care about) and making them track ready.
They made a homemade turbo kit for the 2.5 but the last i saw they left the show saying they were unsure if they would be able to get it running in time for the finale (oh the suspense...).
All I know is on the MkV forums all the Jetta 2.5 guys have been bitching and moaning about no upgrades for the 2.5 except a CAI. So i\'d say prolly not right now. And if you are thinking about getting one i\'d say be very sure you don\'t want to be on the bleeding edge of upgrades because you won\'t and never will be with that motor. Everyone still has a huge boner for the 2.0t and i dont think it will be subsiding soon (i thought 4 hours was the max, but apparently not :) )

it\'s basically the xflow 2.0 of the new cars. Vw\'s bread and butter I\'m sure.... There will be cams and a chip, and eventually some packaged forced induction kits. But it\'s going to be awhile. Years. The xflow was around for about 10 years of production. It took quite awhile for anything substantial to come out for them. They still don\'t hold a candle to the tuning potential of the 1.8T. It\'s going to be the same relation between the 2.5 and FSI engines...

Agreed. Although the extra displacement might make cam and head porting upgrades more drastic/noticable.
Like you said, though, why even buy a 2.5 if you are planning on madding the car. The 2.0T has more power off the bat and gets better mpg! Plus the added tuning potential.
