At my work - Sherburne County Government Center, Elk River. Not great pay, but it is a good place to get your foot in the door and learn a lot! They send you to a ton of really good training throughout the year too. Oh and the pay rate is going up in Jan. 2007. The website is at the bottom of this.
HelpDesk - Desktop Support
Department: Information Services
Closing Date: May 9, 2006
Wage Rate: $14.52 - $21.78/hour DOQ
Status: Full Time
Purpose:
Provide customer service as the first level of user support for issues related to desktop hardware and software for the Information Services Department at the Sherburne County Government Center.
Function:
This position will work closely with the Desktop Administrator to provide users with first level
HelpDesk phone/work-order resolution and technical Desktop support. This position may also
include, but not limited to, installation and maintenance of hardware and software, coordinating the County\'s technical training, training facility, and hardware and software procurement.
Prerequisites:
Applicants are required to have completed a minimum of 1-year technical training covering PC
Hardware and Software troubleshooting. Prior HelpDesk and technical support experience and/or A+ Certification are a plus.
Compensation:
Full time non-union position with exceptional benefits. Paid time off starts at 21 days per year plus 10 paid holidays. Health, dental, short and long term disability insurance, section 125 medical and daycare reimbursement plan and deferred compensation plans are available. Public Employee Retirement Association (PERA) is provided in addition to Social Security.
