OK I have read different takes on this topic so I would like to clear it all up before the time comes to install. I have a MK1 Rabbit that is getting a 16V Rocco transplant, the tranny I have currently has 100mm output cups what should I use for axels so they want bind on the spindles?

Also are the 100mm axels thicker on the outside cv compared to the 90mm?

Yes, the 100mm is bigger on the outside.

You either need to frankenstein some 100mm inner joints with 90mm outer joints or run 'rocco 16v knuckles.

you have to grind away the outters to get them to fit in the hub.

That'd probably work too :slap:

Haha, some day I hope I'm cool enough to have my own smily on a forum, somewhere on these vast internets. I've got it, I will create my own, insert it as often as I please, and host it on photobucket. Heh! I will use it on all the forums I hang out at! It will be the smily for post whore!

And, for the axles, kris is right, I was going to say grind down the outer cvs. Kris ftw.

I've got some outers for 90mm axles if you want them. They are used, I don't know if they are good.

You either have to grind the hubs to take the bigger axles or use the 84+ hubs. You could also use the rabbit hubs with rabbit axles and 90mm stubs in the tranny.

I have been told that the 16V Rocco axels are a direct fit? is this the case or not? It is still a little ways out yet but I just want to make sure I get it right the first time and don't F it up.

i also just got an offer on a turbo and intercooler for this engine that is too good to pass up, should I do it? I would still need piping, exhast manifold, and engine maniment and a spacer for the head.

The rocco outers will be too big, need grinding. It's already been talked about above.
