Custom Exhaust Shops?

Im looking to get custom exhaust for my 24v vr6 and im looking to find a good shop...

I talked to luke (midw3st dbn) and he told me to go to the exhaust shop in shokopee because they have good prices and do good work.

Anyone have any experience with them? Or any other places that would be better?

My bro had Pat do 2 of his trucks, Then my other bro one of his cars. I also got cat back (no cat) exhaust put in by him on an old car of mine and he does real quality work and makes sure its done right. He usually has a wait since he is pretty well known (mine was I think 2-3 weeks)

Wow, that turboback exhaust is pretty nice...My rabbit has a ghetto system involving a mills fleet farm straight through muffler, an original (got new for 70 bucks on ebay) rear muffler with the pipe to go over the axle, some extra chunks of pipe, a few clamps, a few reducers, and some welding.

Just called them and the guy said ~$300 for custom catback w/ magnaflow muffler. They dont have any borla mufflers which is what i really want. He also said ~$175 w/o the muffler and i would have to find the borla somewhere else...

Ive looked a bunch and cant find a borla muffler for my car.

Anyone have any ideas?

BF wants 375 for a custom catback w/ borla muffler plus they do good work so im going there..but thanks for the reference :thumbup:

I had all of my exhaust work done at a Meinikee in Shokapee. It's now under new management.

But I paid 125 for a custom cat back and body modification for the exhaust I have on my 9-3. That included new material and modifications to what was supposed to be a direct fit exhaust.

The same shop also did custom 2.5" piping from catback into a provide STI axleback for $90.

Plus he let me in the shop portion the entire time to direct them on how I wanted it bent, etc.

But as I said, it's under new management, the guy that owned it was a big car guy and he sold the franchise like three months ago.

That being said, I also had a custom built exhaust done on my old 9-3 at some big box muffler shop too, it was like $110 for custom piping with provision of muffler.

You would be really surprised, most of them LOVE doing stuff like this, because they get sick of putting mufflers on beat up old mini-vans so doing something for a "cool'ish" car is kind of a perk.

With both of my 9-3's both shops spent around two hours making sure everything was perfect.

I just go in and play nice and say, hey here's what I am interested in... if you guys are interested, let's work something out.. and if you are too busy now I can come back at a down time.

I took me e30 to the Wonderful Muffler Man on recommendation of a friend, and he charged me two hours to put a cat-back on my e30. Not a custom piece mind you, an off the shelf, 1 piece cat back that I supplied for him along with all new hangers. I was mildly pissed. Had I known it was gonna cost me that much I woulda done it myself.
