Well, things are coming into place and I will likely be ordering about $1200 in parts for the two rigs....

For the MK4 GTI...
H&R Sway Bars, 26mm & 28mm
New poly A Arm bushings
New ZF high performance end links
New tie rods
New ball joints
Slightly used subframe

These parts should tighten things up, and fix a long overdue issue with the subframe. If these don't do all that they should, I might contact Chad about doing wheel bearings.

For the MK3 Cabrio...
H&R Sport Springs
New Control Arms

These parts should make the Cabrio more winter friendly and overall more drivable as well as fix a run-in with the curb from last winter...

So, all in all, this should make for a few weekends of install... Most parts will be ordered through my favorite site, ECS Tuning... but if anyone has a lead on other places, let me know.

sounds fun man! I would reccomend against polly control arm bushings though. I am 100% positive you will hate it. Replace them w/ stock. The poly stuff is way rough.

chad gives us a parts discount on things like the ball joints and tie rods and such...

If you need a place to do some work, you know who to call :) Bring your own kerosene for the heater:)

I already have the poly bushings.... love them.

Thanks for the tip on calling Chad, maybe I will see what he can do on pricing...

And thanks for donating the space!

We run one of these bad boys for working in the garage in the winter:

Once the garage warms up it will kick on and off for about 10 minutes and you can work in a t-shirt :)

Sounds like you have a good plan Pete! Those parts will definitely help tighten everything up on both cars.

Ya Pete. Do the bearings yourself. Its a lot easier than it seems.
