I'm pleasantly surprised to see some pics of the 2002! It made it back to Duluth just fine, at the expense of some hearing and lots of vibrations. It's not much of a show car, or very finished to be shown off but whatever.

Welp, this was the first time i actually had a car at a show, and i'm glad this was it. My car isn't even close to cool enuf to win any awards or anything but i still had a blast!

p.s. any pics of the audi 4k with the houndstooth hood posted would be greatly appreciated. :)
p.s.s i was the 1st one to use primo bottle hood props... i dont know that dude with the 'rocco. :P

Seeing as how we have a ton of pictures to go through, we’ll keep the chit-chat to a minimum. The night before we left, the Roadster’s motor was only halfway connected to the car, Gold Wheels had a removed dashboard and heater core, and the X5 had a lot of candy and children’s toys in it. As always, though, we pulled it together and assembled the vehicles and rolled out just after work on Friday, sometime around 7 pm. Bear in mind we didn’t have time to road-test the Roadster’s newly rebuilt motor, so the test drive was technically the blast up to Minnesota. As with all good road trips, we took a few gas station and rolling shots.

After a bit of confusion regarding parking in downtown Minnesota (the warehouse district specifically, for all you Minnesotans), we grabbed all the (incredibly) warm beer we could from the car and settled in for the night. We woke up to rain, which subsided by the time we hit the road in the morning. After a bit of hunting, we found a self-service car wash right near Eurowerks’ location at the Grain Belt Brewery. And, as you might guess, more pictures were taken. Beats helping clean the cars, right?!

And then we arrived at Eurowerks. The Roadster and Project X were parked on the railroad tracks, with Gold Wheels and the 335 shored up next to an insane chopped-top VW squareback wagon. With no restrictions on sound-related asshattery, we let Gold Wheels loose quite a few times at the crowd’s request. Otherwise, we chatted it up with a great number of wonderful people, took a ton of pictures, some of which are below. And then Miles showed up! Even though a Miata isn’t really European (or at all European), his car’s recognition factor alone got him a street spot by the vendor tents. Nobody knew what to think. And yes, he shaved his plates. His reasoning was thus, “I get pulled over all the time for stupid shit anyway, may as well add something else on top of that.”

And then the car limbo began. Both static and air were in the same category, but it’s not like it mattered, since most of the static cars were lower than their bagged equivalents. The premise was simple — be the lowest, and you win. After many, many cars tried to keep up, in the end there were only two competitors — us in the Z3M Roadster, and the VW squareback with the crazy patina. The original rules stated you could only have as many people in the car as there were seatbelts, but those rules changed towards the end, as everybody was having way too much fun. Somebody managed to rip the rear door off the VW, and your humble narrator managed to squeeze himself into the Roadster’s trunk, so it got a little crazy, but in the end we ended up winning by little more than a hair. It was a hoot, and won us a wrench trophy and $100. Miles and Fabel got to run it, also, but he was exempt from winning as his car is Japanese.

The last trophy to be announced was Further Performance’s Dirtiest of 2012 award. This car went to the “dirtiest,” not based upon actual level of grime and filth, but on parameters that don’t suggest we’re unclean people. The award went to Gold Wheels, and is comprised of parts that Further has amassed from either blown motors or various other sources. It’s MIG-welded together, weighs 60 bloody pounds and can give you tetanus just by looking at it. But we’re overjoyed to have won it, so we have to thank Eurowerks for giving us the opportunity to sponsor the event and come out with our cars, and Further for putting this insane trophy together. To celebrate, we snapped a few more random shots, helped the VW squareback onto its trailer and headed back to the hotel.

Before our night of debauchery began, we stopped back at the hotel to shower and clean ourselves up. As we were leaving the hotel to hit the town, we were greeted with a fireworks show. Awesome.

Once again, we have to thank Kris and everybody in the Eurowerks staff and crew for being incredibly awesome people and putting on one of the best and highest-caliber shows of the year. There were so many uniquely-styled cars there, and we were super happy to be among them. Other thanks go out to everybody who egged us on to keep revving Gold Wheels, Further Performance for fabbing up a trophy made of nightmares, and every person at that event for being super cool. Also, thanks to graves|601 hotel for having some of the nicest staff on the planet, despite adding a couple love dimples to the front lip of the Roadster. I voted for your girl's car for my people's choice award. The show is "eurowerks" and her build thread, I believe is the largest on the forum. Her car is the true winner in my book. The car is beautiful. Too small for a guy my size... But beautiful.
