195/45 onto 15x8. in some threads i've found, people bash nexen's. tires are here, car is at the shop for rack & pinion. tires will be mounted as well. and now i'm debating on whether or not i've made a mistake on purchasing the tires... i won't have much stretch at all so i'm hoping i'm straight. anyone have any input on these?

long story about how they got on there, but I had a set on my 4motion passat and on more than one occasion, I had it sliding sideways. I will never cheap out on tires again.
ok, not completely sideways.

from stretch, or what? i run nexen on my mk4 w/ no stretch... it's a decent tire. i just didn't know if it were a bad choice for stretching or not

yeah, it's very mild. which was the goal, i need my traction. i didn't think i had any worries. but i've never ran stretched tires. didn't know if cheaper brands would stand up to it as well as more expensive rubber would. i drive my car pretty aggressively so i wanted to be certain. thanks

Is there a functional reason to stretch tires or is it just to make them look ugly and easy to get curb rash?

This stretch looks pretty nice actually. Not to ridiculous and not giving up to much sidewall.

w/ 15x8 et10 all around on a mk2 i need smaller tires. the wheels came with 205/50s. i have koni's w/ neuspeed springs... only a mild drop. but mild enough to have alot of rubbing issues w/ the huge tires. my car isn't functioning too well if i can't have one passenger w/ out chunks of tire being cut off. my fenders are rolled, and they will not be cut. 195/45 isn't even an outrageous stretch. it's just the only reasonable tire size i can run on my wheels that will allow my car to FUNCTION. i guess that's a functional reason, right?
if you were running 195/45 w/ no stretch dont you think it'd be just as easy to get curb rash? lol. that's a small tire regardless of stretch. i just try not to drive into curbs. roads are typically wide & vw's are typically small. just my .02 tho

I had n3000s on my mk4, had no complaints at all, was going to replace them with new n3000s but sold the car.

they're on point. this is my 3rd set. 1st set w/ stretch, but you wouldn't know it was stretched unless i told you. nexen's are straight, haters gonna hate.

i've installed multiple sets of n3000 and they are all wobbly ass tires. Not to mention had to send a few back due to pulling. But for $80 for a 17" tire you cant really complain much.
They are a base tire and are like priced.

I ran a couple sets. One set was stretched a bit. For the money they aren't bad. I ran a 235/35 on a 19x9
