View Full Version : Eurowerks 6 - General Exhibition Class

I know this has been a bit of a point of contention with some folks bringing it up over the years. However, considering the intensely positive feedback I got with having Dan and Coltons datsuns at the show this past year, I think its time we open a small section of the show to cars that define what eurowerks 6 stands for regardless of their original heritage.
I'm announcing a general exhibition class. This class is by application only. You can email me some photos of the car, and a little bit of the story behind the car, and we'll talk. This is a LIMITED class. I wont state a number, but I'm going to keep it to a few handfuls at most.
Spread the word.

I liked this idea last year, even though people will most likely gripe about how this is "euro"werks. Amazing cars are amazing cars, regardless of the country of origin.
Is it going to be a separate area for these, or will they be peppered into the general parking?

What does it actually stand for? I'm genuinely curious, not trying to raise an argument or anything. I'm having trouble understanding why we're having a "general exhibition" class when the show is doing so well on its own, just by being what it is: a European car show. Like I said, I'm just wondering, and not trying to start a ruckus

sure man. Basically I just want a handful of cars that cross boundries into the euro world and style regardless of marque. eurowerks shows are judged on things like character, fit/finish, unique modifications, and taste. Theres more but thats the gist of what I mean. I want to welcome a tiny section of cars in an exhibition only form to display that some of our ideals and tastes cross over, and that while this is clearly a euro club and show, we are open to appreciating what's done right.

I don't understand the need for it. Seems like quite a slippery slope and those who don't get "chosen" to become butthurt.
I get my other car fix at C&C, would be more interested in drawing euro cars that's I've never seen before attend the show.

I'm only cool with this if everyone says "Zed" when they refer to the Datsuns.

100% yes.
I was talking with Kris about exactly this car. It's a build we've all been following here, and it would be an absolute shame for it not to be at the show.

Agree.
And people whining that it shouldn't be, but another stock mk4, whose owner doesn't participate at all should be...... well, that is laughable.

I think the idea is that we are not trying to open up to other people but we are letting members who have really great examples to be able to participate. These cars are not eligible for awards either.

Kris laid out the process pretty clearly in the first post. (Dan doesn't count, because obviously he's a shoe-in)

I really like this idea because from my experience most euro fans are also fans of classic american or japanese cars also.

hmm, euro header panel.. nah. I don't think my car has enough of the recognition as a few of these guys already posting. I only have one of the few 6 speed swapped olds in the country. that and my engine bay looks like crap.

I like this idea so long as the cars are done up in a "euro" look and kept to a select few.

I really enjoyed that datsun from last year. Shit was cherry.
Great idea to see some really great non euro cars that people in the eurowerks community have put blood sweat and tears into.

I'd just like to ask why we are specifying the "euro" look. I recall some talk last year about the fact that the classic Japanese cars really have no show in the Midwest and that this class would kindasorta help with that. Is this still the case? The 510 had more than a hint of Japanese tuning style (and honestly, little euro influence). Dan's Mustang is decidedly not euro look. Maybe I'm splitting hairs here. But is it so much about "euro style" cars as it is giving people associated with the club a place to show "other" cars? :) Again, I love the class and everything but would like to clear up the wording.
