Twin city wheel (http://twincitywheel.com/) in White Bear Lake or Precision wheel in Hopkins

Last time I was over at Twin Cities wheel Mark told me he was trying to stay away from rebuilding split wheels. What type of wheel? What are you looking to have done? I might be interested in refinishing them for you.

Well I am considering trying to do it myself so I learn. They are a set of Manaray MS-6's that are on my s2000:

I am planning to powder coat the centers and also sand down some of the curb rash. The only reason I'm doing it is because the two front wheels were sealed badly and are leaking :/

If either of you are interested can you pm me how much you would charge to unassembled and reassemble as well as do a bit of refinishing on the lips?

Thanks! (Ignore the nasty stickers - I bought the car like that and have been taking them off)

Those look like they are in good shape. If you just want to redo the centers and barrels in a different color you can just take them anywhere that does media blasting and powdercoating. You do not need a wheel expert.

Take them apart yourself and then reassemble them yourself. If you do some research you can find how much to torque wheel bolts too. And when you get to that point someone on here can recommend you a sealant when you are assembling them. I know what to use for example.

Have fun with the project.

Oh, and the wheel shop in Hopkins should be able to fix the curb rash.

Been to Twin Cities Wheel. That shop is worth the trip. Really nice guys, and reasonable prices.

I had a cracked barrel welded by them and he seemed realllly shady about it. He only accepted cash, said there would be no paperwork involved and if anybody asked where I got the work done I was told to say it wasn't by him. Well, that weld he made cracked not long after.. WEIRD..

Although I can't speak about their refinishing work, I would expect it to be not the greatest..

the only reason he did that was to cover his ass. if the wheel broke after he welded it you could have taken him for all he had. he is smart about not keeping a paper trail for those kinds of jobs but but fixing an Al wheel that was cracked is dangerous. It will always crack again or worse shatter on a pot hole. If you crack a wheel replace it. dont try to fix it.
