Hey guys,
I've had this 20th AE GTI for a few months now and the previous owner must have done a few too many hard parks because the Aristos are trashed. I was planning on getting them refinshed and powercoated over the winter but after seeing a few clean sets pop up here and there, I wonder if it would be cheaper to just buy a whole other set? You guys think It be a better idea to refinish them or just look for a clean set?

How bad are they??? pics??
Had my RCs re-finished last year, they turned out great, even sold them to some guy in Ohio for like $1200. They were great.

I'll get some pics tomorrow, but theres about a 1in x 1in horizontal scrape on maybe 5 spokes on the wheel. 2 of the wheels I would say are pretty bad, you notice them when walking up to the car and the other two arent too bad.

Well I suppose it would come down to how much you like them. I always liked those wheels, for me it would be worth it to fix them. Try twin city wheel, they have lots of good reviews. Sometimes the sandblasting before powder coating is enough to get the scrapes to not look as bad, but the way you described it sounds like you will need more than just that. I say fix them, put them on the car for a while, and then sell them later on, because if you try to sell them as-is, you wont get much and it would be a total loss.

I'm a big fan of the aristos as well and if I were to place them, it would be with another stock set of aristos.
Heres's a couple pics of the damage

Yeah dude, refinish. Those aren't bad at all. If there were gouges in the metal, it'd be a different story.
