I just got my 2 new tires for my cbr and I am looking for a local place to mount them that doesnt want an arm and a leg to do it. If anyone here has the means to do it themselves or knows of a good place let me know where and the price. The cheapest place I could find around here is $120 to mount both tires  for that price i will just do it with a couple tire irons.. haha

I had mine done at hitching post. I think I bought the tire and had it mounted for $80? (it was the rear).

Yeah its rediculous.. $80 to mount a rear and another $80 to mount a front... What a joke. I think I might be going the tire iron route.

the best thing to do is take ur wheels off urself. even if ur not too familiar with bike mechanics u can accomplish this through youtube videos need to. Just did this last week to my bike. I always do business with cities edge or slxi, i believe they both charge around $25 or 30 to mount and balance ur rubber

yeah. the only issue with that is i dont have stands and hanging the bike from the rafters gets a little sketchy..

I will probably just mount and somewhat balance them myself now. I have done it once before and its not too bad.

darren can mount and balance them for you for cheap. otherwise i suggest slxi. if you were not in wi i would also recomend hamle power in hamel. harley place but dudes are way cool and only charge 20 a wheels if off the bike.

$80 bucks to mount a tire? Ouch...I thought $150 to dismount and mount 8 car tires was pricey...

I also know a guy in St. Paul if that is a little closer to you. He will do them for less than $30 a piece off the bike.

If you can take them off Heinen's in Osseo will do front and rear for $50-60.

Yup to all this

Yup here too.

For $20/tire I'm not going to waste my time with tire irons, my time and frustration level is worth way more than that. I get about 15-20 motorcycle tires changed a year, I can't imagine how much time would be spent by me doing it manually!

If you do it yourself how are you going to get the tires off?

Hanging it with 1-2 A-frame ladders works well also.

I break the bead with this contraption I made out of 2x4s. I will probably just hang the bike from the rafters in my garage and yank the tires and bring them in
