I have been reading up what kind of coils to get lately seeing is i have to much time on my hands but i have run into a delema. Most kits you are going to be spending about a grand for coils besides the Vmaxx kit. I have read tons of things on then and have nothing but good reviews and comments from everybody. They might go the lowest but i dont want that and they are by far the cheapest. Does anybody have any input as to this or any eperiance with Vmaxx products?

Only thing I'd worry about with cheap coils is the rusting on the dials after a couple MN winters

That's a fair concern. There are a few local guys with 'em on. I've seen them in person and they go pretty damn low, I wouldn't worry about that. If I were to get coils (and I may in the spring), I'd try out vmaxx.

Well at 600 bucks for coils you really cant go wrong at that price. I think i will order then this winter and wait to install till next summer so then i dont have to worry about caughing up the money then

I am about to jump on those too. Talk to Olson he has a few tricks on keeping them good for the MN winter.

I was going to buy these but then got scared away from them after hearing that they would probibly seize during the winter. Ended up getting an Eibach Sportline Kit.

the only big thing that made me stay away from these is they arent the most performance oriented coils. they seem like they are more so for just lowering the car...

Im looking at a set to get in the spring. they are cheaper then a cup kit for my car. Coils are not really that big of a deal. you lower it once and are done. they are going to seize up.

Just an FYI, even nice coils (stainless steel bodies) can sieze... if the adjustment ring is aluminum, which most are. It is called dis-similar metal corrosion. It basicly happens when two different metals come in contact with one another and electrons decide to jump ship.

Even 'good' coils should not be neglected... esp. in the winter.

I just got mine on my mkIII vr and i love them. Totally worth the $$. I expected less. My only complaint with these is that the rear is a bit bouncy. As far as performance they are actually pretty good!

yeah 600 bucks is nice but... they don't have damper adjustment do they? well i thought they didn't i may be wrong. look int B&G RS kit. they're hard to get but they're about a grand, have damper adjustments, and have 2 places for hight adjusment at the top and bottom so you can slam it and not have some shitty bouncin

Nope, I don't believe the VMaxx have adjustable damping. That's the main thing people complain about.

my $.02 here, my weitecs are and have never touched them. My konis were on my mk4 I set them to all the way stiff at first, then changed them to half. didn't touch them after that.

My PSS9's have adjustable dampening. I experimented with it a little bit but once I found a comfortable setting I haven't touched them.
