My wife and I have decided to make an upgrade in the car department and buy something newer and something a little more versatile. So I need to sell this car pretty quick and thus it is priced right.....
1999 Saab 9-5
2.3L Turbo
5-speed manual transmission
258,xxx miles and going strong
Metallic silver green
Tan leather interior
Power windows, seats, sunroof
CD and Tape deck, all operational. I'll even throw in my Lynard Skynard tape.
I bought this car last August after the birth of my daughter because my wife and I both had 2-door cars. I got this car from a Saab enthusiast that owned 2 9-5's, this was his spare car and cabin cruiser. He had maintained it well for most of it's life, but was putting more energy into his other 9-5 and kinda let this one go.
So I bought it knowing the engine and drivetrain were in great shape and it just needed some work in other departments.
So, new parts in August and September last year.....
Front Struts - $500
Decent all-season tires - $500 mounted and balanced
Front Brakes (pads and rotors) - $250
Battery - $85
Rear lower control arm bushings (paid a shop to do this repair) - $600
Alignment - $70
So as you can see I put a bunch of money into this thing. There are still other things wrong with the car, but I took care of all the things that effect drivability.
There is a clunk in the front end. I know it needs sway bar links up there.
The A/C doesn't work. The hoses appear to be good, the controls work, and I believe the compressor is still functioning. The condensor leaks though, I could hear it when I tried filling the freon. I had the A/C working for like 5 minutes before the freon all leaked out.
The passenger front window won't roll down. The switch and the motor still work fine, something mechanical broke in the door.
Power seats are still functioning, they are just very worn out. Rear seat is in great shape.
Door panels are showing wear, and carpet is in so so shape.
The body shines up ok and looks alright from 10 feet away, but every panel has some sort of minor ding or scratch in it.
It has a receiver hitch on it.
I bought it on the cheap, put about $2000 into it in repairs to have a reliable driver.
$1500 firm.
