Hey all this is from Max's thread about his car he bought without having it checked out. I hope it can help at least one of you from buyers remorse.

SCI will be instituting a new "Max Caven free pre-purchase inspection" for all members of Eurowerks. If you are looking at picking up a car and need a quick check over give a call. SCI will perform a quick check over for free. We will put it up on a hoist and let you know what needs to be done. This way we can help eliminate any future purchases like this.

Buying a car, especially one of your first cars should be a fun/exciting experience. Hopefully keeping people from buying cars that have been thrown together(like Max's) will help put the fun back in owning a VW.

You will have to mention the Max Caven free pre-purchase inspection. When you call about having us check out a car for you. Otherwise.... $50:cookie:

Awesome!!! Right when I started to look for a new vehicle.

Always liked/respected SCI from what I heard but this is just going beyond the call to help the local euro community.

Thanks!!!!

Just a quick heads up to everyone. My last name is pronouced Kay-ven. Like the letter "K" and then "pen" but minus the "P" and add a "V". hahaha.

But seriously, this is awesome. I'm glad my name/misfortune/stupidity(?) will be tied to the best shop in the land for years to come! :worthy:

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Max Caven pre-purchase inspection was of great benefit to me. I was un-unaware of the deal but Chad honored it anyhow.

SCI is a great shop and for the last 4.5 years of VW ownership I decided to take the leap into an Audi. I look forward to playing with my new purchase and will continue to use the valubale resources that SCI offers.

Chad and I discovered some good news about the 03 allroad that I have made mine. We found that the suspension had been converted to a strut/spring combo from Bilstein & Arnott which is relieving due to the expensive air spring setup that was the factory option. It also appears to have a good set of turbos still, new axle boots and such, as well as, new brake lines, and just all in all well taken care of.

On a side note, I did extensive research on this car and haggled the price more than ever. I utilized car fax and the information provided from the warranty booklet and service schedule, turns out this car has been religously handled by an Audi dealership from CA, or after its arrival to MN at Carousel. After taking a trip to carousel I decided to just ask one of the service guys if it was possible to get a print out of the service history.

Turns out all repairs and maintenance have been performed by the dealer since 34,000; in fact, the car has 94,500 on it so I was thinking timing belt and water pump; but it turns out that carousel did it at 89,900:happydance:. The car has nearly 4500$ of work done in the last 7500 miles and should be ready to Rock!!!!

Thanks Chad for making me go into this purchase actually knowing more than the BOZO's at Bloomington Acura/Subaru and I feel bad for the man or woman that traded it for a Acura or Subaru.

Cheers!

Nate

This is an excellent gift to the community, Chad and SCI are good people.

That said, it's worth mentioning this is for Audi/VW cars only. A potential buyer of the E30 tried to set something up and they told him that since they don't work on BMW's, they couldn't do it for him. Which, is completely understandable, but just wanted to let others know.
