Ok- Not sure if this is "car parts", but bear with me...

Heres the deal. A few years ago (ok, 10 years ago) i had a couple 190 2.3-16's, and was pretty into it, so I joined the mercedes club and got the "star", since at the time (01 or so) that was about the only mercedes club. Along the way, i found out my dads old porsche buddy was the editor at the time, so I got a deal on 1 of every back issue they had left, pretty much every issue back to 86 or so (gets thin the earlier it gets, and there are a few earlier, but is a bunch of them- solid through the 90's, and doubles up above that). I was kinda bummed at the time because there wasnt much 16 valve stuff in there (was kinda the black sheep i suppose), but still very good. They arent a "newsletter" really, very much a glossy magazine, think panorama/porsche quality. Good reading if you are an MB nut, which i guess i still am, but am cleaning house a bit, and found these under the stairs. I can get exact issue numbers if you want, they are all basically brand new, read once. Ha. They were kinda expensive at the time, but throw me an offer. I would think 40 bucks or so would suffice, or just talk me out of them. Dont want to give them away, but would prefer somebody that would be into it get them. They are pretty fun to read.

Yeah, I have quite a soft spot too, but i just have too much stuff- I keep everything- most of which i cant find, or dont even remember i have- ha. Anyway, it concentrates on the new models (at the time) quite a bit, along with typically 1 or 2 older models, and some sort of vintage and history as well, not too much racing as most merc guys arent too into that, but there is some. Usually an aticle or two on techie stuff. Alot like the Roundel (bmw) or panorama (porsche) I would say, albeit with less racing.

No big deal at all. By the way, i noticed that you had a 16v back seat in your td- where did you get that from? Some kid in north dakota (or sd, or neb, something)? I sold 2 16v parts cars awhile back ( I was living in colorado at the time, and just wanted them gone) , and one of them had that same rip/shrink (i got it in seattle from someone that didnt know what it was, but came from mexico via chicago, it had a rough life, and a hole in the block...). Anyway, would like them to go to someone that would read and enjoy them. I found pic of the parts car in question... 8 years ago, wow...

I have front and back 16V Recaros in my turbodiesel I bought them from a buddy of mine who has a track 16v, works at sears imported autos
I had an 86 smoke silver cossy, but the turbodiesel is the best W201 chassis car they ever made IMO

lots and lots of mods in it, converting it to a 5-speed in spring. losing the battle with the rust unhappily :/

Yeah, my first 16v had the same problems, not terrible but when they put the lower body pieces/cladding on originally they didnt seal it, or something, it rusted badly around the holes. You couldnt really see it ( i didnt when i bought it, original paint, it must be rust free ;-) ), but it was there. The one i got in washington one was 100 percent rust free, thats why i bought it initially, but it just sat in the shop as i wanted to build a true evo 1 replica. I bought another ratty one (after i got in a accident with my first one) to fix the first one and just make a driver, got a mosselman turbo kit and a 2.5 bottom end from germany blah blah blah, and was all set to put it together, my parents moved and i lost the shop it was all in, so i sold it all off. I regret it slightly ;-)

sheesh! a bit of bad luck - that!

I've just decided Im going to 5-speed swap it, and run it till it literally rusts to pieces. the car has already paid for itself in my book.

190 owners are usually pretty fond of them, past or present (and I own a crap load of E30s, too.)
