An intro to H.O.T(hanging out time) starting this friday night.

Hey all,

H.O.T(Hanging Out Time) is something I have been doing for the better part of 15 years here at the shop. It is a very informal and laid back GTG(get together). In the past it was a core group of 8-10 of VW/Audi guys hanging out and maybe working on something. Most of the time is spent deciding what we are going to have for dinner and whether larson has payed for his food yet.

I have been thinking that since the loss of Matt S's photo studio hangouts, we have lost some of the fun that this club is known for. So starting this Friday I would like to extend an invite to all of you to join us. Come to the shop for H.O.T this Friday. Bring a couple bucks if you want pizza or what ever we end up ordering and just hang out.

I will probably be working on the new shop bar stool go cart or finishing my bead roller tool and stand. I'm sorry to say this is not a open garage night. So don't limp your car here looking to use the hoist to "whip in a new clutch" :nono:

Just plan on bench racing and hanging out for the night.

What it is....

1. 6:30 til 11pm or so.

4. watch a bar stool go-kart pieced together.

1. Free clutch install night at SCI.

That is SO awesome of you Chad! I do miss having the GTG's at the photo studio. I wonder if I still have a key? Would the new tenant mind? But seriously this is just dandy and if it ends up being continuous, I'm certain that many people will find it valuable throughout our long journey into the tundra.

I'm glad to have gotten the chance to clean up the shop and work on the bar stool go-kart.

I was able to
1. shorten the rear axle.
2. Make the mounting points for the motor.
3. Mount the motor
4. Measure and make the chain
5. Mount the rear disc brake caliper


This is the most time I have spent on it in years. I hope those that came tonight had a good time.

And no Jes you can't answer the phone when my bride calls. I don't need to bring that trouble into my life.

Time to leave the shop. By the time I get home, I will have to get up in 5 hours to take the 6year old to hockey practice.

I took it out and promptly decided I didn't want to eat pavement that night. Tried to go out again latter and the chain broke.

I think the chassis needs some tweaking and brakes to be fun.
