I am posting this car up for a friend

It is a 1988 Porsche 924s with euro spec engine and interior option

The car has 200k but is still running strong and the body is in surprisingly good condition for its age and miles, the car will be fully detailed before purchase too:)

The color combination is Guards red/Black leather, it is an automatic sadly but would be a fun car for anyone

It has power everything and everything works

The only mod is an intake that we just installed, made it sound really throaty and got some throttle response out of it, still have the factory intake and everything

Also the car will come with an iPod Touch loaded with music:happydance:

The car is 1 of 102 in the United States

PM me if you would like his number or post up any questions and I will have him answer them

Can you elaborate on the "eurospec motor and interior option"?
Also, it's 1 of 102 what? I have owned my share of front engine Porsches and was not aware of any super special edition 924's (esp autos).

"1 of 102"

I dont know, maybe a real late car ( dont know, but cant be too many made in 88). That would be my guess, unless its the one of 102 with "this" color int and "that" color ext game. The only other low prod cars are the martini ones, and obviously gt and gts cars. Also, I havent seen a ton of autos, so maybe thats it.

If it was me, i would put the stock airbox back on it, and keep the ipod. The person that will buy this car will want 100 percent stock and original.

Anyway, for a 924 nut would be a neat car, but that auto is going to hurt it. Good luck.

Yeah, thats why i think it is 1 of 102 because of the transmission, i guess the us ones have a different engine or emissions or something i didn't understand what he was getting at

But he said there were much less 1988's then any other year

pm me if you would like his number
and he is pretty felxible on the price:)

we will put the intake back in if the person really wants it but the car will come with all original parts

Oh, ok.

I would assume this is a "Gray Market" car (imported from europe by an outside party)? I would get that figured out, it will affect the value, sometimes good, sometimes bad depending how it was "federalized". I am not a 924 guy at all, have done some 924 turbo stuff, but really wouldnt know what is what on this car. It does look clean though from the pics.

I did notice that it still had the early dash, which was switched in the 944 mid-year-ish in 944's, not sure on 924's but would assume porsche knew they were on their way out in 88 and left them alone. Anyway, dont mean to be that guy, just trying to help you and your friend out. A good place to put it up for sale would be the pelican parts forum, or samba. Porsche guys watch those alot, and 924 guys are their own club...

Good luck

That is a north american spec 924S. Nothing rare about it. Porsche imported 2190 924s's in the North America (US and Canada) in 1988. The bulk of them were red with black interior (Like most 944's sold) and most were 5spds. The fact that this car is an auto does not really make it more desireable from anybody's perspective. That's why I wondered why your buddy would use things such as "1 of 102" and "eurospec motor and interior options" as extra selling points to the car, when in all actuallity it could be 1 of 102 that got gas at the BP station in Burnsville in 1992.

They only made the 924'S' in 87 and 88. 88 944s have a higher compression engine then previous years that might be what he is talking about. All the 924s had the early dash.
looks like a clean car good luck with the sale.

I would try Craigslist. I'm just taking a guess but an automatic porsche isn't going to sell quickly here... Especially in November.
