Who? Where? When?
Are there any waves of cars organized yet? I know it's only an hour away, but I still think it's fun.
I'll be waiting for my girl to get of work at 5pm.
Ready to leave at 6pm from South Minneapolis.
And you?

Was there a time posted on when we could arrive on Friday? I would like to get there early enough to set up my tent and get settled in. I'd be down for a cruise down there of some sort.

We will leave after Beth is done with work. I'm guessing around 6 or 7 depending. Maybe a little earlier.

I'm heading down early to get set up for people arriving. When you get there, you will need to have the $15/person ready to give to me or Alex, who will be checking people in.

Please do not show up to the site until 2pm, as we will still be setting up and it will just be more hassle. Thank you.

I took Friday off as well and will be heading down in the morning, just because I really really like that drive early in the morning. I will wait until 2 to show up though :sadwalk:

Really? No one else?
Matthew, we could roll with you. I DO NOT plan to work 8am to 6 or 7 on Friday. Oh hell no. ;) I'm hoping to bust out of there mid/late afternoon and be packed the night before so we could get there and get the set up up before dark.

I'll probably work a little later tonight so I can duck out tomorrow at 1 or 2. I expect to show up at 3 or 4.

When does someone want to come get firewood? Time is limited.

Idealy, we'd have someone with a truck. You can burn a LOT of wood in a weekend. I wish I had more space and lived closer, tonight is packed for me.

How much should we worry about bringing firewood in from the metro area? I know the state parks only allow use only local firewood due to the threat of transporting forest pests. Hay Creek Valley campground is not in a state park, but what if I'm a tree hugger? Just wondering if anyone has good leads on any Red Wing area firewood vendors.

This was covered in another thread, I emailed them and they allow all firewood from MN, they also sell it on-site

I just looked at the drive on a map for the first time. It looks like it's a beautiful drive once you're SE of St. Paul!

Took today off for this. Sadly Tawnya has to work and then a microderm which I have to wait on. I was planning on leaving at 4 or 5... not 6. Would like to go down while there's still good light left.

Pitching a tent in the dark sucks almost as much as taking one down in the rain.

(I'd respond, but you're not even going. Your lameness completely voids anything that you say.)
Also, 'pitching a tent' requires pants. Fuck pants.

Pitching a tent in the dark is not overly difficult - much rather do that then take it down in the rain.

Pitching a tent in the dark is not that bad. If people are worried, I'll form a possy with some lights and we'll help you "get it up".
Three people with lights and experience pitching tents can construct all but the most complex and huge tents in under 10 minutes at most.

I was only complaining. I can pitch mine with my eyes closed in under a minute.
