So, while I was down in Ames picking up my new Miata (http://www.mnautox.com/forums/showthread.php?15182-Mazda-Miata-Officianados-HELP%21&p=176510#post176510), I stopped in and visited a guy who was selling a salvaged 2000 Miata LS. It was in a front end collision, and the body was pretty torn up in front. But it still had all four 15" alloy wheels, still had the Bose sound system, and the glove compartment were there, all of which should be easy to transplant into my MX-5. It also has the cruise control actuator and the combination switch, so maybe if I'm looking to get in way over my head, I'll put that into my Miata as well. I may also keep the rear bumper and tail light assembly as well, in case I ever get rear-ended... unless someone really needs it now. They're in near perfect condition.
So... in one of the crazier/stupider/awesomer decisions I've ever made, I cut him a check for the rest of the car.
Anyways, here are the pictures that were taken:

(sorry they're so low-res - I didn't realize it was set to 640x480)
The engine and transmission are apparently in perfect working condition, or at least they were before being removed from the car. They have 88k miles on them. The front axle looks great, as does the LSD differential. The brake booster looks great, as do the brake lines.
Center console (tan) works great. There's a tan boot cover; I'd love to sell it to have money to put towards a black one. The spare tire is there, and fine. Steering wheel is fine... mildewy, but fine. The leather seats are scuffed up, and could use an oiling and cleaning, but they're in surprisingly serviceable shape.
Most of the body panels seem in fine shape. The doors are great, and have power windows in them, IIRC, and the tiltable side-view mirrors. Scuffs on them, but in damned good shape.
There's no dashboard or radiator/AC. Most stuff seems to be there and good, if a bit spread out around this barn.
Aaaaanyways, if folks want stuff, just let me know. I'd like to recoup my costs, but I'm not asking for the moon and stars. If someone has some extra garage space, I'd be happy to trade the usage of that space plus some cash for the engine/transmission (5MT).
