Up for sale is a s3.15 LSD out of an e36M3. (out of an AvusBlua M, WOAH:eek:)
She has 120k and whines. But still functions. Most Likely worn bearing.
I pulled it because I couldn't DD it w the whine (only whines when floating on the pedal)
Great for a rebuild or diff swapping.
Yours for $147.00 obo.
In Wisco, but I make my way to the Twin-Cities every other weekend.

What input and output flanges does it have?

No, I'm wondering what size output shafts it has, and if the input flange is a 4-bolt or a 6-bolt.

Full of Tin says "4 in, 6 out. Fit to 328. but they swap out in 30 seconds"

The outputs swap in 30 seconds, but the inputs don't.
The 4 in is the most common anyhow.

30mm knut for the input. Won't be hard to break since I already took it off to reuse the old 6-bolt-input.
Mounts are in good shape.
psh only 14 posts? I'd run a background check.
BF.c is my main stompin' grounds.
but thanks for the publicity, I owe you a brewski.
ps. wow I need a smaller sig-pic. thread hogger.

Just so everyone knows, I sold one of these a while back for $400.
$147 is pretty good.

nevemind, I was thinking this would fit an e30, which it doesn't. My mistake.

Yeah, sucks since 3.15 would be perfect for my E30 come spring.

Good price for sure, I bought one from B*mmert*m a while back for $*** (installed). They're a great upgrade for an E36 328. If I have my facts straight, you'll need to source an M3 driveshaft to bolt up.

Not always... thats what all the fuss about 4vs6 bolt flanges is about

I want to make it clear that it does whine and would most likely need a new pinion bearing. This is the reason I took it out (and to put a 3.38 in).
However, The diff was still putting power to the wheels.
Many re-builders buy the cores, but I don't feel like shipping a huge chunk of metal.
Thus, the extremely cheap price.
This would be a perfect fit for a 325, 328. AND it already has:
-4 bolt input flange (for non-M's)
-Smaller output flanges (for non-M's)
Might be going to a drift event on Saturday, great place to pick the diff up!

Right, that's why I was kinda  about it.

So, what does it take to replace the pinion bearing? Are there places around that can do it cheap or is this a major thing?

I have not priced it out. I did not want to take it on myself because I know the tolerances are pretty specific. A diff specialist would be your best bet.
