Finally got the new engine in the coupe over the weekend. Bought a stock 8v for $250 with around 80,000 on it. We teared through it all night and got her in and running in a matter of 36 hours. She runs flawlessly...Only problem though is that the cold start bypass is stuck on for some reason and the car surges unless you clamp the tube which I did. But its up and running, Ill have pics up with in the week plus some of the "mods" Ive done to it since last.
Oh and my new custom exhaust goes in next week :D yay stragiht pipe.

Ok, I honestly have a gremlin or just bad luck with this car because its apart again with a blown tranny. I broke the throw out bearing and sent metal shavings into the case and now I need new parts including a clutch and flywheel and i slight possibility of new gears. Im not doing well with this car. Any suggestions for parts? I have some graduation money so I can throw a little money towards it. If im gonna buy new pats I want to do it right, what do you guys think I should do?

My clutch has been slipping for some time off the line, but looking at it now, it might just have been my transmission because its been leaking for some time now. But this is what happened; Because the trans is older then the motor, my dad and I are assuming it has around 180,000 to 200,000 miles on it. We never checked it and Ive been driving the car wrong I guess by leaving it in gear with the clutch in at a stop....I taught myself how to drive manual, I didnt know. I broke the throwout bearing and sent parts of it into the trans, marring up the case, breaking a tooth off the spyder gear and another bearing blew up. the trans case is all torn up but I did nothing serious to the transmission so its replacable parts.
