View Full Version : Suspension and brakes on the 525i are done!

Well I finally had some free time to finish up the suspension and brakes on my 525i. The car has been up on jackstands since early July and I have been too busy at work to get it done. I tried to start it this morning and the battery was toast, wouldnt even take a charge. So it was off to the dealer for a new one and then to the tire shop for an allignment.

I replaced all of the front suspension arms including the tie rods and sway bar links. I installed Koni adjustables with Eibach springs and also rebuilt the factory brakes and installed Brembo rotors, Hawk HPS pads, and flushed the system with new ATE Super Blue.

It\'s like a brand new car! It drives so nice now, it feels very solid. No more shimmy at 55mph and clunking over bumps in the road.

Here\'s a few pics from this afternoon and the work in the garage. Next up is the front end, lights, HID\'s, clears, euro bumper trim, fog lights, and 540 ducts.

Looks great, didnt know you had an E34. Great cars...

My neighbor has a black E34 with some mods. Pretty cool..

E30 and E34 to match :ohmy:

Haha Eric, I do prefer the Alpine\'s.... I bought the car in April right after our meet. Got it on Ebay for a great price considering its a one owner, low mileage(113,000) car from California. I will use it as my daily commuter when the weather is nice and save the Expedition and its poor gas mileage for the winter.

Kris, the E34 is a nice highway ride. It has the non vanos M50 in it and is... teh slowness. But the damn thing gets like 32 mpg on the highway!:woohoo:
